Helping providers of transgender healthcare navigate legal challenges and political attacks so they can keep their doors open and continue serving patients.
About The Good Health Project
The Good Health Project, founded in late 2024, provides free or low-cost legal representation to healthcare professionals and institutions seeking to provide transgender healthcare in a rapidly-changing legal environment and rising atmosphere of government lawlessness.
Our focus is on advising healthcare providers on how to provide the maximum extent of services allowable by law, avoid over-compliance with the government’s attempts to restrict healthcare through threats and rhetoric, and avoid litigation. We also provide policy advocacy advice, know-your-rights education, and other services our clients need to continue their provision of care.
The Good Health Project works closely with other transgender, LGBTQ, civil rights, health, and legal organizations, and the nation’s leading pro bono practices; and is part of the larger movement to preserve and defend civil rights, democracy, and the rule of law.

If you are a health professional or institution and need support, let’s talk! We are able to answer questions like:
What should we think about when caring for patients who live in a different state?
Our state has a shield law. How can that help our practice?
Our malpractice insurer is trying to raise our rates. What are our rights?
What do the federal government’s latest messages about trans healthcare mean for our practice?
How can I plan to manage any changes in how federal health plans cover the care we provide?
Note that we answer legal compliance questions, but we don’t represent clients who need to bring or defend against a lawsuit, or who are being investigated. We may be able to help you find a lawyer who can represent you for those things, if that’s needed.

Access to transgender healthcare is under attack at the state and federal levels – and providers of gender-affirming care across the country urgently need help navigating this climate to ensure their ability to provide a continuity of care.
The Good Health Project meets this urgent need. The project connects providers with informational and educational resources to help them navigate the shifting legal landscape, understand their rights, and stay up-to-date in a chaotic political climate.
Your donation goes directly to support these efforts. Thank you for your generosity.
